The 2022 OSIG organizing committees’ number one priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the youth participants. 2022 OSIG organizers will be working with the City of Ottawa, the University of Ottawa, sport and competition venues and campus security, to develop a comprehensive safety plan which includes support from Emergency and Medical Services (EMS), as well as local Elders and support staff from Friendship Centres and nearby communities.
The safety and security of event participants is a shared responsibility between youth, their accompanying chaperones, the 2022 OSIG organizing committee, venue partners, and the City of Ottawa emergency response services.
